Satirical newspaper “The Onion” or “New York Times” article? Can you guess?

This is the funniest headline I’ve read in a while! It could be an onion article headline!

Goodall’s passing hit me hard. A mighty force of her own, pushing humanity to be better. Public goods provision must feel hopeless to the individual - Goodall urges us to keep on. But Yeats captures the moment for me. I am hanging on to Goodall for direction and energy while the beast slouches on.

They all have one thing in common though, don't they?

I wonder whom we should fire for these numbers?

NYT can’t/won’t report whom they voted for in the presidential election. Whole article is about how important public broadcasting is to these communities. It took a quote from Mark Amode ALL the way at the bottom (after detailing Murkowski’s “brave” efforts to carve out funding). Just gross.

I’m heartened to see that Publics appear less susceptible to legacy. However the pipeline after under grad perpetuates initial disparities. Would love to see more risk taking in the Ivy’s & more options in the public’s for ppl with fewer means to get xtra curriculars that enrich & prepare students.

I love the NY Times’ use of the words “may” and “could”.

I will take Congressman Derrick Van Orden's enthusiastic endorsement of the facts.

It certainly reflects a new and much changed NIH. The assumption is that operating DEI or DEIA means you *are* engaging in discrimination ideology. Also is having an ideology a violation of a US law?

We all have important teachers and persons in our lives. I don't understand how so many have turned away from these teachings..... I just don't understand. This person did his best to lead a decent life and inspire others to a faith rooted in compassion and care for those with less. What happened?

I am sad to read that IZA will discontinue operations as of Dec. 31, 2025. My time there was such a formative experience for me as a researcher....I will forever remember in gratitude the staff and researchers who worked there and supported me!

Yes, but the expectation is not uniform. I’ve been really trying to understand what drives that disparity and what it could mean / how it should inform our thinking.
