I was going to retire this view of the jack o’ lanterns…

A virus has visited my house (not me this time, yet). Chicken soup made. The view out the window is nice.

Wreaths are done. The one with oranges is mine, the one with blue is for Oma.

Decided to try a diy winter bird cam. Not sure how sustainable this will be, as the mice definitely were having a birdseed party last night. But it’s fun to watch for now.

Grew up with artificial but married into the real tree life. Husband is the treemeister (both selection and decorating) in our house. This is last year’s.

Had a coyote stop by. Neat to see, but also don’t like that it was getting a bit comfy hanging out next to the house. Made some obnoxious noises to scare it away.

Trashline orb weaver with stabilimentum. It’s less than the size of my pinky fingernail. Fun fact: if you speak at volume toward these, they’ll drop suddenly and play dead. So be polite and speak gently to them.

Araneus saevus or fierce orb weaver. This one was having some difficulty and I think was at the end of her lifespan, so I moved her to somewhere she could rest. Quite a large orb weaver for around here at approx 20mm. Photo marked graphic so the spider-averse don’t get a jump scare.
