For myself, I choose to say that I read audiobooks. If someone else wants to use different terms to distinguish between the print & audio for themselves, go nuts.

And yes, an audiobook narrator can add to or detract from my reading experience but so can a translator. And no one's claiming I haven't truly read The Brothers Karamazov or the latest Isabel Allende. So what's the difference?

For me (who consumes books with my eyes & ears but mostly my ears), I don't notice a significant difference in the way my brain is engaged between the two formats. Yes I often need to do something with my hands while listening to audiobooks, but I usually listen to music while reading print books.

Look, it obviously depends how you define "reading". If reading has to be done with your eyes, then audiobooks clearly aren't reading but neither is braille. If reading can be done with your eyes or fingers but not your ears then fine, I guess, but that feels a little arbitrary.

Obviously not the point but I'm fixated on the age range being listed as 13-10 (instead of 10-13). What are they, BC?

After you first mentioned reading this book I was inspired to borrow the audiobook from the library. I slogged through 17 hours before realizing it was only Volume 1 of 2 and the library didn't carry Volume 2 🙃

Doesn't help you now but a few years ago we invested in some heat tracing for our eaves trough. We leave it in there all year but only plug it in on warm winter days when there's lots of snow on the roof. If ice damming isn't a normal problem for you, your snow just needs a clear path to drain.

I had never heard of this comic before my Discover feed started showing me at least one a day. I have now seen so many and am no less bemused.
