This is beautiful writing. Our minds are trained to think in terms of the hero’s journey, but the older I get, the more I cherish creatives who capture the nuance of quieter, less familiar narratives—a little more poetry than storytelling. Thank you for celebrating what could easily be overlooked.

Ok, I’ve got it: Steeping Days. A few days at the end of each year to steep your mind in words, stories, ideas… ideally with a cup of Earl Grey close by.

I’m curious how many teams are using language models to incorporate nuance from the often ignored “notes” columns. For example, a simple summarization prompt: “summarize notes and suggest updates to my categorization to be more inclusive.” Never perfect, but perhaps better.

Great read. Especially appreciated their framing about how data-driven decisions appear objective, but actually bury the decision-making in second-order details: outcome variables, categorization, collection methodology, etc.

Wow, great excerpt. Such a powerful contrast between coping mechanisms: do you choose the distraction of the aviary “full of bright plumage,” or the communal solitude of a bleak steamy tearoom smelling of ancient radiators and greasy toasted cheese. I can really feel (and smell) that choice.

Downloaded Ghost waves 003 yesterday. Looks amazing on my monitor — so soothing 😌
