I feel like a lot of people online (educated, news media types) feel very jazzed up about proving they have the correct philosophical opinion on gender and believe politics should be a referendum on this question rather than like, minimizing human suffering through access to healthcare

Fair, allies are helpful! I'm mostly frustrated about medical paternalism, and the broader culture of other people restricting medical access to women/trans people because it disagrees with their own personal beliefs.

I think its important as adults to understand that we are more removed from the feelings of youth than we realize, and we can commit so much harm by paternalizing young trans people. Let young people have the care they need is it really so hard.
