One of the services I enjoy offering the most is manuscript evaluations. If an author isn't ready for a full substantive edit, or if it's beyond their means, an evaluation is a great place to start. They come away with a report full of actionable big-picture advice and a follow-up call. #editing

My native plant garden is coming into its best bloom season. Now will someone please send me bees to enjoy it? This is getting frightening. I live out in the wild!

Treasure on my morning walk. I was kicking myself for waiting a little too long to harvest willow for baskets this year, and lo and behold someone had lopped off the top of this tree and left it in the ditch.

It's fitting that the week we published our Seed Starting vs Direct Sowing episode on @plantsalwayswin.com, I did a bit of each. Here's my cold-hardy square-foot bed. Indoors, I added herbs and tomatillos to my tomatoes, kale, lettuce, & flowers. #gardensky

A raised garden bed has been divided into four square-foot sections using twine. Many of the sections have a seed pack resting on them.

I wanted to plant a handful of pea seeds now that the snow is mostly gone. Of course that meant four hours of work removing the quack grass from the bed and burying new logs around it. Fingers crossed we're now set up for a successful year in this bed! 🌱
