You're talking small potatoes in the broader economy. There are many factors that affect wages. Our higher unemployment rate is another. Average wages is also a difficult to compare, how many billionaires and millionaires are in the US, that skews the data. Why not look at minimum wages?

For one, different currency. The lower exchange rate is really a hit at our wages.
