Chicago realtor by day and many nights, mostly here to chuckle at witty jokes & memes, a main course of sports to support my Detroit roots. Like a side of politics, never as the main course....prefer to disagree without being disagreeable.
Feel LaPorta is such a glue guy to the offense, does everything well and some things great, especially YAC. Most importantly, in the Goff circle of trust with St. Brown, probably Gibbs and sneaky Kalif. Still think biggest thing they miss is Ragnow, tied the room together like LaPorta with Pass O.

Very talented player, just get Anthony Richardson vibes if he decides to enter the draft, i.e. amazing athlete but not enough game experience to develop early. Think everyone has FOMO and is looking for the next Josh Allen but end up with AR, Josh Lance, etc...workout warriors but not ready yet.

Not sure what he will choose to do but being able to transfer and earn NIL money will still playing gives him great options. The big conern is injury risk. Do think he needs another yr of playing vs. being a rookie in the NFL unless he goes to a team that will let him sit, i.e. Justin Love situation

How windy is it at the Philly stadium tonight? They keep talking about it but wonder your perspective on it? Scale of 1 to 10, is is a 6, 7, higher issue, or just gusts that come up?

If the Tush Push would be get banned would it also make all the plays the Lions have scored on by pushing guys into the endzone (ex: Gibbs in WAS gm, LaPorta in MIN gm, plenty of other examples) become illegal as well? Always wondered about that, since the DET has had many TDs scored with extra push

I saw this and wrote it would be week 15, Lions at Rams....😁

What are the actual rules on concussion protocal, has to have two full practices in a row or something? Was wondering if they pulled him at the first sign of symptoms in the WAS game so he had a better chance to clear protocol before PHI game.

I actually think it will be in week 15, when the Lions visit the Rams. It could really set the table for playoff seeding in the NFC.

Just sent a voice memo email about the Tush Push, hope I recorded it correctly and one you find interesting. Either way, will definitely be listening to the Pod here in Chicago, behind enemy lines...lol

That just made me spit up my drink....😂

Funny as hell and props to your wife with the witty comeback...and pretty much right about all of us.

To be fair, most of us do...lol

So true. Thought he was done after cup of coffee in DET but still balling, seems like a good dude too.

Think they were teammates in PHI?
November 9, 2025 at 10:35 PM
So worried he is going to get a weird injury on one of those. Wonder who is the emergency backup kicker?
November 9, 2025 at 9:45 PM
Thanks Dave, only difference I can see is glasses. Will be fun to ask him about it after the game whether he was actually calling plays. Do think he over rules at times, hell, he is the head coach.

Keeping an eye out for Germany game, have lots of relatives in Koln & Frankfort area, my Mom actually born in Koln, near where St. Brown kids spent time growing up. My brothers and I have been Lion's fans since 80's, used to go to Thanksgiving ever yr. with out Papa. Depending where in Germany, Yes.

Thanks, thought I had read a little tidbit about it but more importantly Reed will be back to play this season and will need down the street and in the playoffs.
November 7, 2025 at 8:51 PM
Thought he actually tore his hamstring on that play so better late then never this season. Since he will be missing a lot of games, does formula for comp draft picks benefit the Lions, might they get something? Thought I heard if Reed missed to many games, potential better comp pick. Any idea?

Like the baseball analogy more then the basketball one. The problem is Lion's don't seem to be getting enough walks to up their on base %, which at least would help. Is it a talent issue on the iOL+Decker being hurt, or more execution? Was always more worried about losing Ragnow then the OC & DC.

Clever of him....do you need to respond regarding Bitonio with Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here"?...lol
November 4, 2025 at 2:24 PM
That's the best power rush I've seen Capt. Jack do yet in a Lions uniform. More of that please. Do feel BB is not playing well, feel that Aaron Jones swing pass for 30+ yds was his guy to pick up. Hasn't played in 3 weeks so hopefully shakes off the rust.

2) Drafting well is very important, but so is managing cap right over the long term. The foundation is drafting good players, smart FA signings but also have to manage the cap or become NO...or mess up like DAL, CIN. Seems similar to what PHI does cap wise. Sorry, I geek out on the math/cap stuff..🙂

1) Thanks and very interesting! If I am reading this right, makes me think annual salary is fixed whether it was 16 or 17 games, players just had it spread out to more weeks(34 to 36), but no extra money. Wonder if NFLPA will take a different approach if they go to 18 games, want extra pro-rated $.
October 29, 2025 at 4:58 PM
Cap/contract Q, if NFL goes to 18 games during Hutch's extension, does he get paid for the extra game or is his contract just spread out over 18 gms? i.e. are contracts for a season, or a per game? Extra game check or just spread out over 18 vs 17 games? Just curious on long term cap implications.
