And now we're about to lose ACA subsidies.

I'm fortunate enough to get insurance through work. But if you're self-employed, or your employer doesn't cover it (retail, gig work, etc.), you're about to pay much more.

I was a long-time apologist for the ACA. At the very least it would eliminate denying coverage for pre-existing conditions and level premiums.

But it had a lot of holes. States like FL didn't fund medicaid expansion, so friends wound up too poor for ACA, but too rich for medicaid.
