I totally agree. Local groups rock. Though I'm not against paying dues to a non-profit guild where the money goes into programming and resources for members. I warn people away from free online groups where half the members want to scam the other half.

A couple people I know recommended it, but I found it lackluster as far as fantasy goes. Mostly just a vehicle for erotica. That said, author is doing very well with the books so more power to her.

I just finished one that's at least 75% pure dookie. Felt so good to finish it though.

I think you're okay to go enjoy the game in a non-creepy way. We have a pro women's team by me. They get decent turn out for games, but not great. I think every warm body in the stadium helps.
