☀️ We have a new paper out—work led by @drbjl.bsky.social: We analysed a simulated CME via synthetic (remote-sensing and in-situ) observations, incl. Parker Solar Probe-like encounters close to 10 Rs and WISPR imaging. We reproduced many features found in real data. ApJS link: doi.org/10.3847/1538...

Just witnessed the launch of #PUNCH and #SPHEREx, the rocket emerging from behind the LA skyline and over the ocean here in Orange County 🚀🛰️🛰️ A super cool view, good luck to the two missions! (and congrats @drzowie.bsky.social ☺️)

Just witnessed the launch of #PUNCH and #SPHEREx, the rocket emerging from behind the LA skyline and over the ocean here in Orange County 🚀🛰️🛰️ A super cool view, good luck to the two missions! (and congrats @drzowie.bsky.social ☺️)
Happening on Xmas Eve: Parker Solar Probe's first-ever closest approach to the Sun, at a distance of only 9.86 solar radii, is scheduled for ~11:45 UT on Dec 24, 2024. This animation shows the trajectory of Parker's Encounter 22 projected onto the solar equatorial plane ☀️🛰️ #heliophysics #parker
