I believe that everyone should be allowed the space and time and opportunity to become who they truly are. I am sad that some people, given the space and time and opportunity, choose to be assholes.

I know some might say we should simply remember our lost soldiers today without tarnishing that tribute by addressing our political climate. But to my mind, looking away squanders their sacrifice. It's our responsibility to be candid about the crisis & to honor their service more urgently than ever.

I’m horrified by the murder of two Israeli embassy staffers at an event in DC last night.

The fact that the gunman said he did it to “free Palestine” makes me nauseous. Murdering people for their nationality is never acceptable and this violence hurts Jews, Israelis, *and* Palestinians.

It's weird to me that so many of my neighbors voted to take away their own healthcare to give me a tax cut. They need their health care. I don't need a tax cut. Neither does anyone who makes more than me, either.
