Part of taking the cancer drug combo I’m on is regular injections of Fulvestrant, which messes with my blood sugar to an annoying degree.

I hate this feature of the Dexcom g7 continuous glucose monitor. It stops providing numbers over 400 and just says HIGH. Grrr.

…And now I am getting push back from insurance on getting more needles - the ones I need to inject the flipping insulin. So ridiculous, the amount of power insurance has. Like what am I going to do if I god forbid have an extra box of needles?!? If I run out of needles I’m in big trouble. Grrrr.

R.I.P. Gene Hackman.

Favorite role was Hackman as Brill Lyle in Tony Scott’s beautifully made Enemy of the State. Cat owner. El Camino driver. Justifiably paranoid nutter. A great character.

I’ve been dreading Hackman’s death. A true end of an era. A talented actor who really enjoyed acting. 💔

Something like 3 weeks until I go back to work. I restart my cancer drugs around that time too - it will have been 13 weeks without treatment so I’ll be glad to be back on it. Though it’s a brutal, rough combo, even dose reduced. Big stressor is working with Paloma the Stoma. Never a dull moment!

With insurance these two tubes of ointment for my lymphedema skin issues were $999.94. Almost a grand with insurance.

My life saving cancer pills are over $19,500. Per MONTH.

The world of healthcare is seriously messed up.

Just had coffee for the first time in months. It tastes so good and I’m buzzing with energy. What a great drug!

Now I need to re-read Memoir from Antproof Case by Mark Helprin.

LGSOC is a rare ovarian cancer that occurs in less than 10% of ovarian cancer diagnosed. It is difficult to treat and many teal warriors in our community rely on clinical trials - or the results of treatments that have been tested in clinic trials - to fight this deadly disease which is never cured.

I’m thinking a re-watch of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension is in order with all this “bigballs” talk - Big Boo-Tay!

If Congress wants to quickly generate funds to pay for tax cuts for the rich, all they really need to do is raise interest rates on student loans. Easy peasy.

It’s 6.550%. 10.000% or even 15.000% = Genius, right?!?

“Interest Rate 6.550%
Interest rates on federal student loans are set by
Congress.”

My two favorite Absolute Bagel flavors - egg and pumpernickel. So delicious with the perfect chew. Often hot out of the ovens which are right there behind the counter. #RIP

I gave up and started a new Dexcom G7 sensor - burning 3 days - out of the usual 10.5 days they are supposed to last. They are expensive and it’s annoying to get replacements. I’m so dang tired. SMDH.

Dexcom - please do better. I haven’t had one of these faulty sensors in a while. Aaagh. #T2D

An old pic but this is what it looks like when I get my legs wrapped at Lymphedema Climic. It’s a sleeve, cotton, foam pieces, and bandages. I’m lucky to get this clinic - it’s like the deluxe fancy way to reduce the lymphedema. It’s hard to sleep though and is often painful and uncomfortable.

My new unasked for political take: We need Glen Powell to run in the next election. We need another actor who can be embraced by everyone. White men only. John Krasinski (Jim from The Office and ugh People’s current sexiest man alive) is also on the list.

I just finished watching HPI on Hulu (with subtitles). Enjoyable to have something a bit off the wall with bright colors and a French bent. Sometimes annoying but some lovely moments as well. Now looking for a new show.
