My sweet boy Alfred John Russell Schmidt died Sunday, Sept. 14, at a mere 26. He had been on dialysis for almost 6 years. He couldn’t stay away from cheese, and it fucked his body up. And now I have a broken heart. He was a wonderful son. This was 9 years ago, just yesterday to me. 💔

When in the course of human events, you need a margarita the size of your head! On an interesting side note, why is the traditional music of so many countries full of accordions and brass? (Seriously, I could translate the lyrics from Spanish to German…)

I’m slowing making my way through this absolute UNIT of a book. It’s BRILLIANT, although I admit to taking breaks from it to read lighter fare (you know like East of Eden😉, ok and some Jim Butcher Codex Alera too). I’m a little less than a quarter of the way through, and I really recommend it!

I’m slowing making my way through this absolute UNIT of a book. It’s BRILLIANT, although I admit to taking breaks from it to read lighter fare (you know like East of Eden😉, ok and some Jim Butcher Codex Alera too). I’m a little less than a quarter of the way through, and I really recommend it!

It’s nice to be reminded your boyfriend takes random photos of you! My Mark took this on my birthday last year. I was talking to my dear friend Sue (at the very left edge) and some of her friends. He sent me this and some others yesterday. It’s little things that make you feel special!
