I rarely watch the pairs, but I stayed up to watch the senior pairs SP late last night because it would be a good preview of for the Olympics. As much I love Miura/Kihara and want them to win this competition, I would have put them in 2nd behind the Italian pair Conti/Macii.

All the skates were clean except Yu-jae, who fell on her 3Lo.
Queue the usual comments re the KSU burning their skaters out with internal competitions. They still hold their ranking competition days before the Grand Prix final, and both Yu-seong and Yu-jae just competed there.

What I really appreciated was the judges giving her 7.96 in skating skills, perhaps the highest I've seen for her. She deserves that and more, and has been chronically underscored in that dept. Like Rino. Like Aoki Yuna.

Ji-a delivered this beautiful FS and claimed the gold. She was the chosen one, assumed a shoe in for the Olympic team until late last season when she crumbled. She has improved steadily this season and now appears to be in top form and once again the top contender for the Olympic team.

Ji-a delivered this beautiful FS and claimed the gold. She was the chosen one, assumed a shoe in for the Olympic team until late last season when she crumbled. She has improved steadily this season and now appears to be in top form and once again the top contender for the Olympic team.
