AI sounds wonderful in theory— it could help us work and live more efficiently; however, in practice, with organizations across all sectors of our economy trying to fully replace human work, it’s blowing up in our faces. The craziest idea yet is replacing teachers with chatbots and low-paid paras.

My boys are four years apart, and there was definitely a disparity in how well each responded to potty training. Different kids learn differently, too. I know it’s frustrating, but you’ll get through it. Potty training is both an art and a science.

Bernie Sanders said it well along time ago. The only way we can get common people in federal office who can relate to the masses is to institute comprehensive campaign finance reform. Also, I think it’s time that SCOTUS justices have to run for election on the same schedule as senators.

The gross hypocrisy from the right is deafening, because the right, ironically, is still complaining about Hillary’s benign emails. Hillary complied during the investigation into her suspected emails. Meanwhile, the right can’t reciprocate. Instead, it’s blame and deflect. Who lacks accountability?!

Inflation is rampant today. Seldom do I bring my kids to McDonald’s, but I’ve seen their kids meals as high as $8, sometimes even higher. Also, you don’t want to know what I’m now paying for quality reeds for my son’s clarinet! Everything except our pay has risen significantly. No surprises there.

The right says they’re going to swiftly address this, and I have my doubts. That party is fractured beyond belief, and they’re alienating many of their own, as most red states don’t offer state-level subsidies to compensate. Let them finish themselves off. I’m fortunate to live in MA. We care here!

I was a runner-up for a special education job last summer that opened up because she was let go for misconduct reasons. I heard she locked misbehaved fifth-grade students in an in-classroom bathroom, essentially using it as a holding cell! I’m sure she would’ve used these crates, if she thought to!

Under no circumstances should a sex crime be minimized, much less against a child. How could she trivialize this with a clear conscience? Is she resolving cognitive dissonance because she was sexually assaulted as a child? Her daughter turns 15 in April. Will you still feel this way then, Meg? 😳

Building muscle burns calories. Rarely can I lift on the days I do cardio, as well. My suggestion is three days of lifting and three days of cardio. There are creative ways to incorporate cardio into your lifestyle, too— parking farther away from a storefront, yard work, walking whenever you can.

We need more No Kings marches, and we need to be more profound— louder, animated. Enough is enough!! Let’s take back our country and restore basic humanity!

That makes two of us! Well, the holidays are finally here, which means 2026 is almost here. On to ‘26 and wishing us both a happy and healthy holiday and certainly an awesome 2026!

Sure! And, the fate of the crucial ACA subsidies is? Yeah. He and the GOP got what they wanted when Schumer caved in.

Sending positive vibes to my fellow musician! We’re as good as, if not better than, family! 🎼

I wholeheartedly concur with you. I’m a musician and originally began my collegiate career as a music education teacher. I still play drums and keyboard, as well as teach a bit. I know many talented STEM professionals, too, and their writing skills are generally atrocious.

Totally yes for the music teacher on the board. The arts and humanities far too often take a hit come budget crunch time. That is the worst outcome for the kids. There is scientific evidence abound for how music enhances cognitive health and camaraderie.

You did the right thing, because you acted on principle. I get that there is SOME abuse of public benefits, which takes them away from those who really need them. I’ve seen it first hand, but it’s very small; however, taking away benefits from everyone is savage. The GOP disgusts me. We cannot cave!

On top of taking a 50% pay cut to become a third-grade teacher in August, I had also recently learned that I’d be losing my federal healthcare subsidy. The district’s plan is very costly. Now, my premium is going up by more than 450%. Low pay and costly insurance are two more reasons to not teach.

Thank you! 😊

I’m a musician (hobbiest), and AI is also trying to overtake music, too. What does this supposed to mean? Anyone can be a musician or “musician?” Authenticity and human connection that are so imperative to all of the arts are under threat by AI. Art is about self-expression, not an AI bot. WTF?

Solo looks like a fantastic read! I’m finishing curating a reading list for my 11-year-old son and myself to read together over the remainder of the academic year.
