@vietthanhnguyen.bsky.social actually watching apocalypse now for the first time, and frankly, I don’t take issue with the story’s American focus, only that Red Rain isn’t as well-known as it.

So to that end, a question: do you ever think you’d write a “soldier story”? About the PAVN or the ARVN?

Lovely article by @platanoranger.bsky.social. Perversely, this is what compels me about Battlefield, why 1 worked so well as a WWI game:

It is an unflinching, honest depiction of the apocalypse caused by war and conflict, a- well- War Tape of where we were, where we are, and where we’re all headed.
i’ve been playing Battlefield 6 and couldn’t separate its love of destruction from the carnage I see out of Gaza every day
While one of Battlefield 6's calling cards is environmental destruction, it's hard not to connect its toppled buildings to current events. @platanoranger.bsky.social on Battlefield 6:

Excellent work of yuri, really enjoyed the combination of self-deprecation (Pala essentially being Ash if she worked for the WTO), apocalyptic anxieties about the future, and a sense of visceral, deeply personal horror about abandoning love for the state.

10/10 would headcanon as HL1.5 again 👍
