Best to avoid abrasives like microgrit and alconox when possible, all parts have an end of useful life. The key to upkeep is getting good ion transmission thru the analyzer which has a LOT to do with cleaning the burnt boogers off all the metal rf transmitting lenses and shields and source parts.
