It’s wild how a few attendees at a DSA rally make gross, widely-condemned pro-Hamas statements, and the narrative becomes “all democratic socialists/leftists love Hamas and cheer dead civilians.” Pathetic smears.

We can be clear, as B’Tselem is, that Israel-Hamas conflicts is a result of Israeli policies of apartheid/blockading Gaza AND maintain human rights norms against intentional attacks on civilians (Palestinian and Israeli). There is no contradiction.

Rashida Tlaib explicitly laments Israeli lives lost & calls for peace; claims to the contrary are lies. She’s being smeared for departing from the narrative that violence derives from unexplainable forces rather than policies & material conditions.
