The inspirational Helios at Fountains Abbey, Rippon. One of only two UNESCO World sites of Culture in Yorkshire, cited as a "Masterpiece of Human Creative Genius". Amen to that.

Thoroughly enjoyed Bradford's Bradford Literary Festival in Bradford, the world's first UNESCO City of Film.

Luckily to be in the steel city, Sheffield today, and toured some of my favourite places, the oldest enhabited building, the beautiful Sheffield Cathedral, the empirical seat of learning and of course, the mighty Crucible!

The spirit of Yorkshire! The largest volunteer powered theatre in the whole of the UK. The empowering Hippodrome Theatre in Todmorden. Community power and togetherness persinified in brickwork.

The lifeblood of West Yorkshire, the beautiful River Calder (not to be confused with the River Calder) made recently famous by starring roles in Happy Valley and The Gallows Pole, but known to be much older.

Glorious, glorious Pickering, enhabited since the last Ice Age, adorned with medeival frescos and still home to steam rail, despite being the gateway to the Moors, there's no need to venture out from Paradise Pickering.

Now the snow has cleared, I can get back onto the astonishing tops of Yorkshire's North York Moorland. An astonishing area of natural beauty. It takes your breath away. The climbs and the winds certainly help in that endeavour, but obviously, that's not what o mean.
