Update on the documentary I worked on: "What the Hell Happened" won Jury Award Honorable Mention & Local Audience Award at the Philadelphia Film Festival.

I wasn't able to attend, missing out on audience reactions to the humor I contributed in my animation.

HDR support is still a bit wild west; video games like Baldur's Gate 3 can't map HDR screen content to SDR when making a game save preview thumbnail.

Cyberpunk 2077 extensively re-renders in HDR before saving in Photo mode, but the resulting PNG is a "flat" 8-bits per channel image.

Those were good times!

Since May 2024 I've been working off-and-on creating original animation, titles, graphic design and one special effect for this documentary; And now it's premiering at the 2025 Philadelphia Film Festival!

Chicago being used to thoroughly was a big surprise to me because it's so specific to the Classic macOS UI.

It made more sense in the Robocop 2 baddie's Finder-style UI homage than as a full-scale aesthetic in the Alien universe.

Alien: Earth honoring the well-established tradition of "greebling" random or everyday parts onto surfaces to make things look futuristic or detailed — this time lining a wall with woofer backs from large speakers.

Once you see it, the kerning between the "v" and the "g" on the Adobe SVG document icon will drive you crazy.
The Adobe Creative Suite document icon for an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) file. Icon drawing is an outline of a rounded page with top-right corner folded in. There are three vector points on a downward curve, with the middle point having bezier handles. Below this are the letters S, V, and G.

As a longtime fan of David Lynch I wasn't prepared for today's news and have been deeply saddened by his loss.

I've hung onto my old "davidlynch.com" purchases all these years because the custom packaging is intriguing. I've found myself revisiting those this morning after hearing the news.

Finished the first season of Fallout, and as a longtime fan of most of the games I enjoyed it.

Of course the show is packed with easter eggs; One I haven't seen mentioned yet is that the password for the cold fusion device is the release date for the original Fallout 1!

Ah yes, the "With Mitt" social media campaign app that had a typo in the graphic overlays it used.

It'd be a shame if someone extracted those overlays before the 1.1 patch quickly overwrote the mistake only to share them on social media 12 years later...
The PNG overlay asset from the v1.0 Mitt Romney "With Mitt" social media app from his 2012 campaign. The overlay has a typo in the headline that says "A Better Amercia". This overlay was composited on top of a users selfie photo that was meant to be shared on social media.

We could never forget Craig… and yet his legacy grows as it would seem he's constantly associated with filthiest subjects one can imagine.
