Making some demo pots for my intro to wheel throwing class!!
Hey it's been a sec! I've finally gotten some work out of the finished glaze firing and I'm working on getting some photos taken. There's a lot of sanding in my work so there are other steps before photos. Here's a little "study" I worked on. Super quick but fun!

As most people are, definitely feeling doom. My current effort is changing inner turmoil to some healthy expression. It's not a quick change but every bit of effort matters. I've been thinking of the Vermont flood of 2023 and making it through all of that. ⬇️ (Continued thread)

What's up kiddos!! This is one of my favorite recent mugs. My clay fired perfectly with a slight bit of atmospheric effect on the foot. The outside is lined with a wild kaolin slip from Southern Vermont! #wildclay #wheelthrown

This post has been resonating with me so much. I've realized I am in the habit of "neutralizing" posts to help with algorithms and therefore losing a lot of myself at least on my social media platforms. Blue Sky is a good clean slate to change that!!
Is Bluesky just for pots? How are other potters thinking about content differently here? Isn't this a chance to talk about ourselves more holistically like the random stuff we care about like this mural I made before my first kid was born? Or Tibet, or native plants, or Ukrainian xmas ornaments?

Stack of mini bowls from over the summer. Love how they turned out. I'm in the process of making more but the doldrums of winter definitely slow down the process. Can't wait to get firing again soon and hopefully I'll get some tasty pots out soon!

Hand-built studded box made last year. I put a locally sourced clay slip on the exterior and then glazed over top with an off white satin glaze. Fired to cone 10 reduction.
