As of today, all current NOAA Climate and Global Change postdoctoral fellows have been furloughed due to the Dept of Commerce not releasing the funding for the program. In addition no new Fellows were awarded this year. cpaess.ucar.edu/cgc

Unidata maintains a lot of key weather data infrastructure, including the netCDF data standard and libraries, metpy. data dissemination servers for accessing models and observations from NOAA, and educational resources for the university community. Now everyone is furloughed b/c of Trump and DOGE.

You may see messages like this on parts of our website, including the drought page. We rely heavily on maps & data from the High Plains Regional Climate Center, which no longer has funding. We'll do our best to point to alternative data sources, but many of these products are not easy to replicate.
