Cell networks were iffy from the moment power went out, I couldn't make a single call until after the power came back an hour ago. Data services were wildly unstable, then everything stopped in the middle of the afternoon.

It's a surprisingly poorly-documented fact that Thunderbolt cables do in fact work as standard USB cables, despite the bespoke fancy drivers that enable longer runs. I think I had to try it on a whim to find out that they did work.

We kinda have that in Portugal, except it's not strictly tied to the domestic electricity provider (though bundles do exist). Single contract works everywhere with an RFID or NFC card and it mostly works great...
Except that they screwed up the billing model in ways that inflate the price.

700 W seems to be on the low end of what's typically on the shelves. 750 W to 900 W is common enough.

Maybe if ESA and the EU stopped financing endless dissemination platforms that offer no meaningful improvements and compete against each other to see who can waste the most public money creating yet another platform with this year's buzzword du jour attached...
