FINALLY got my hands on some Green #Chartreuse, so here's a nice end of summer #cocktail, a variation on a Written Word:

2oz gin
.5oz Green Chartreuse
.25oz Grand Marnier
.5oz fresh lime juice

Shake in ice, double strain into Martini glass, garnish w/lemon twist.
cocktail with bottles of the ingredients listed above.

Haven't done a #cocktail in awhile! The Deshler:
2oz whiskey
1oz Dubonnet
.5oz curacao
2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
orange swath & lemon swath

Stir in ice, strain into cocktail glass. Garnish w/orange peel.
Not too sweet, but thin but still flavorful. Plus I got to use my new footed rocks glasses!

SF author Peter David died this week, I heard. He wrote many Star Trek novels that I loved as a kid, including my favorite, Vendetta, which I literally read the cover off of. RIP.
