Just posting whatever occurs to me.
If you can think of an easier way to warm up my RandyVan, I’m all ears.

I got tickets to see Dylan in the summer of 1986 without a ton of background. I recall buying Biograph (to study up) and Knocked Out Loaded (figuring he’d play a few off the new album). One of them figured prominently in my musical education.

I say “main finger” a lot.

Marc Maron (age 62) keeps getting cast in these—the only one he was even close in age to was Jerry Wexler (50 in 1967). Chuck Plotkin was 40 in 1982, and Ron Oberman (from the Bowie Stardust film) was 28 in 1971. Looking forward to seeing him as 20-yr-old Geoff Emerick in the upcoming Beatles films!

85-year-old Ringo Starr can perform a two-hour concert in the heat of summer. It’s all in the choices you make when you’re young.

I will seek that out—thank you!

I bet you could do a terrific version of “Annie,” if you haven’t already.

Sure, Bucky had to take guns to school in case one of his dope deals went sideways.

(Bucky being a portmanteau of “Bobby” and “Fuckhead.”)

This is terrific, although now I can’t stop thinking about that tiny Jazz Age bump in girls named Leo.

I was 15 when it came out—literally the target audience. I still think about how uniquely terrible the line “Does Barry Manilow know you raid his wardrobe” is. Also, yes, the lazy stereotyping and its thumb on the scale for the pretty kids.

Both of those things are basically catnip to me, so I’m very much looking forward to this.

So, the problem is we already had an RFK, and he was pretty great. Rather than tie his son to the legacy of his father in any way, I have taken to referring to Junior as “Bucky”—a portmanteau of “Bobby” and “Fucking Idiot.” Bucky Kennedy. I encourage others to join me.

Wow! Was she as cool/imperious as she seems on the cover?

Particularly pleased with the cover image I found.

That is a great one!

I hope the top right book goes into more detail about how he sprouted that third hand—it’s really essential to understanding the impressive fretwork on his later albums.

I remember reading that. It’s always stuck with me for some reason.

In Lima, Ohio!

Even in Toledo, we youngsters could count on the CBC as a respite from, say, the 1976 Republican Convention.

Great write-up (and accurate)! I was concerned that my fellow Toledoans were going to get testy about the lack of hits, but they seemed to understand the assignment. I was in the second-to-last row on the main floor, so luckily gabbing behind me was minimal.

Hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did, Molly!
