I was named after a guy named Frederick, but my parents thought the kids would call me Fred Flintstone.
Mom: What do we call him?
Dad: Erick.
Mom: . . . . But our name is already “Erickson”
Dad: [Looks at baby] Yeah I’m not seeing we want to expend a lot of resources here
Dad: Erick.

And here I'm the basic guy who's like, "his name is 'Erick Erickson' (or however the F it's spelled). His parents couldn't be bothered to try harder to come up with a first name."
