Isn't it just a bit "too on the nose" that the Thanksgiving football game is COWBOYS vs. INDIANS, as we commemorate the false narrative that the colonizing Pilgrims co-existed peacefully with the local tribe?

No?

Am I the only one who thinks so?

The first Thanksgiving was an asylum meal subsidized by the locals. In thanks the less than grateful illegals stole their land, and cancelled the locals entire way of life and other forms of genocide

Leave it to Trump Admin to punch-down on holiday, that commemorates immigrants allegedly expressing gratitude to indigenous neighbors they eventually displaced, by having the Department of Homeland (in)Security take a shot at immigrants

yes, they said "illegal", but we know they mean brown

Just making big moves against "outsiders", immigrants, and doesn't care if this hurts industries not yet fucked by his immigration policies.

Inhumane and bad for business

In light of SCOTUS ruling

“Laws are threats made by the dominant socioeconomic-ethnic group in a given nation. It’s just the promise of violence that’s enacted and the police are basically an occupying army, you know what I mean?

If we can't laugh during this travesty of failed governance, we'll never survive

What a bunch of clowns, drafted into service by a con man, bitter about his adjudicated culpability for rape, guilty felony verdicts, 2 impeachments and disapproval of his predation of children

The declaration of Independence, lists some of the grievances against King George that triggered the founders. How many has the president also committed?

Sooooo,

I'm still on the fence about how I feel about this beauty by Terry Pratchett and Colleen Doran, knowing it's tainted by the contributions of a villain who used his reputation as a "feminist ally" author to take and abuse

Heartbroken for his victims

Trump and his minions probably thought IVF entailed non-consensual impregnation of minors and then forcing them to carry full term and then giving the child to "deserving trad wives"

MAGA (assuming they read) think the Handmaids Tale, & other dystopias, were meant to be instructional not cautionary

Funny timing, but I think that Tim Apple might need a refresher on whatever LMS platform they use to roll out things like Business Ethics training and Corruption/Anti-Corruption training for their executives.

I half expected to see this past weeks news, as an example:

"Arbeit Macht Frei"
hits differently with recent statements about Medicaid 'get a job' and this order granting wider freedom to arrest people for the crimes of being unhoused, mentally ill, addicted.

Like the "useless eaters" that filled concentration camps like Dachau

Our fascist leader signs order making the arrest and institutionalization of unhoused people.

"Useless eaters" was a label for homelessness and disability in the past that we're failing to learn from.
The "get a job" rhetoric rings familiar:
Arbeit Macht Frei

When does a song shift from being a "cover" to being a "standard"?
It's common in blues apparently, play "The Wind cries Mary", "Texas Flood", or "Boom Boom Boom" or "The Thrill is Gone" and it's not a 'cover' but you're playing a standard.

How many non blues songs achieve that?

Me first
