So I've currently run away to Scotland, and I'm considering staying longer, at least another month.

Or...you know...finding a 4-year rule maths position and just staying. Forever.

I've been writing a lot. I should finish the draft of this novel in June, if not May.

Isn't it always the way. I'm packing to leave tomorrow morning, and so this is the time when scenes are flooding my brain. Of course.

Sometimes, it's a problem for a character to know a thing, but also any change that made them not learn the thing would be a problem, so instead...they learned the thing, but now the thing isn't static, and even though they knew it then, they don't know it now, and this definitely makes sense.

I drove over to the Oregon coast. I found a little place called Godfather's Books in Astoria, and met a charming bookseller who (predictably) sold me a book. ...and then I recorded myself talking to myself for about two hours on the drive home about my book, which involves the *river* Lethe.

I miss theatre sometimes. I liked reading a lot more than being on stage. I am the kind of black cat that is not meant to be observed. Visually self-conscious, but I like the idea of doing voice work.

The main thing I'm writing right now is a philosophical novel which is a love letter to stories. It's...very hard to describe more specifically, especially in 300 characters. 🤷🏻
