Catching the stare-down between two Ring-necked Pheasant roosters. Swirling tails and wings. Light not being the best (but the usual for around here), I had my aperture opened up and my shutter speed not as fast as I would normally have had for birds moving. I like the sense of motion this shot portrays. The defeated backs off from his adversary.

Two Arcus roll clouds. I had never heard of these before. Captured while hoping for a nice sunset that never happened. One passes as another appears. Calm between and ripples while overhead.

While passing overhead, the Arcus cloud makes a disturbance on the water's surface. As the roll cloud leaves, the water returns to it'd former reflective calmness.

This red fox was on the edge of the Arctic Ocean in Alaska. It had stolen a greater white-fronted goose's egg from the nest and went to bury it into a gravel bank for later. It is shedding it's winter coat for summer's.

This red fox carried the stolen egg from the goose's nest, out in the wet tundra, several hundred yards back to where he would bury it. Digging with both front paws into the loose gravel, the red fox had to go a ways for the large goose egg. After digging the hole deep enough, the red fox dropped the goose egg into the hole. Now, the red fox uses it"s snout to push the dirt and gravel back over the egg.

Looking 50' below me, the ice fringed creek drops into a nice pool surrounded by a mossy environment. The icy stream enters and exits another emerald pool through it's green surroundings, gradually adding more frozen edges along it's course to the ocean. Moss draped trees across the narrow cut that courses it's way through the forest.
