Don't you dare turn your eyes away from history, even the awful, scary parts. If you don't watch it with your own eyes, you rely on others to tell you what you saw. We must all bear witness to what's coming.

I think one of the things people don't always get about working in legislative politics is that, despite headlines, so much of the work is not flashy or high-profile. I'm working on introducing a bunch of bills for the start of session in NY. Here's a partial list. Much of it is pretty mundane!

Would totally give like $5 a month to a podcast that did episode by episode breakdowns of the greatest cartoon ever made:

The female reproductive system as demonstrated by this mermaid Barbie's... marsupial-esque? evolution.

So I go to pick up my rental this morning. Guy at the counter -- too cheerful for 7am -- goes:

"I have a Mustang or a minivan."

Never have I felt more like a dude than when I made that choice

Of the many things that are "not normal!" Time naming Trump as Person of the Year is like the most normal thing they can do. POTUS/POTUS-elect have been named Person of the Year more than 25% of the times it's been named.

How can Americans be so uninformed about politics?

I have a PhD in Political Science, worked in the House as an APSA Congressional fellow, work in New York's legislative branch, and follow politics closely as a personal interest. I'm informed as heck.

I have never heard of this dude.

One thing that's helped even out my feed a little bit. Hopefully the algorithm builds up and they put in a chronological timeline soon!!

Highly recommend the new Rock Hudson documentary on HBO.

It's sweet and sad and heartbreaking. The lengths queer men had to go to just to have a taste of a happiness, and the ways they had to chip away at themselves bit by bit...

No, we're never going back to those days.
