More Apparition: the lyrical conclusion of the middle section of the piece into the wave-like recapitulation.
The electronic track for "Apparition" is created entirely from short #cello effect samples. In this ethereal section, the soloist plays high harmonics over fluttering tremolos. If you listen really closely towards the end, you can even hear the contact sound of the fingers hitting the fingerboard.

I'm excited to share the fourth video of my summer video series, Carl Donakowski's beautiful performance of "Apparition" for #cello and electronics. This piece explores feelings of loss through sweeping, unabashedly tonal lyricism. The full 13-minute performance is live on YT.

Glitch Excerpt #4: the B section of the piece where the "glitching" chills out for a bit and the music rides on looping patterns etched over broad waves. This section was originally written for brushes, but in this version I played with soft mallets to exaggerate the melodic contour of the phrases.

Summer Video Series #3 is out today: my performance of "Glitch" for #percussion, electronics, and synchronized #lighting! This piece was written in 2021 for my amazing colleague Casey Cangelosi, who gave the premiere performances and recordings. This clip is the opening of the piece.
