I rated Roofman (2025) 7/10 #IMDb A good, somewhat lighthearted comedy drama that was fun to watch from start to finish.

I rated Black Sheep (1996) 5/10 #IMDb It’s barely a 5 star review. The trailer made it looked great but I think all the comedy from the movie was in the trailer.

I rated Tales of Halloween (2015) 3/10 #IMDb It’s basically an immature, campy version of Trick ‘r Treat, but not nearly as good. Its target audience seems to be those in the 12 to 14 age range, except for the violence and gore, and legendary horror icon Easter eggs to be appreciated by Gen X’ers.

I rated Child's Play 2 (1990) 8/10 #IMDb It’s slightly better than the original because the history of Chucky was already established in 1988, so now we’re just all in with the creeps, scares or gore.

I rated Nosferatu (2024) 6/10 #IMDb A good movie but longer than it needed to be. It’s nice having a modern version of Nosferatu but while some things I think Eggers did well, some elements just weren’t quite as good as the original. Still a decent movie though.

I rated The Voices (2014) 5/10 #IMDb It’s too lighthearted for the subject matter and not funny enough to uphold its designation as a dark comedy.

I rated The Naked Gun (2025) 4/10 #IMDb About as I expected — not that good. It had its moments that gave me a mild chuckle but it’s nothing like the original trilogy and nowhere near as good Leslie Nielsen’s version of Frank.

I rated Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025) 7/10 #IMDb Much of the movie scored a 6, but the creative deaths, seeing Tony Todd one last time, and the ending has me rating it a 7. Good, not great, but better than some others in the film series.

I rated With Honors (1994) 8/10 #IMDb A great movie that was more emotional than I thought it would be. I thought it was gonna be a lighthearted comedy with a little drama.

I rated Duel (1971) 7/10 #IMDb A very good Made-for-TV movie that really launched Steven Spielberg‘s career. The voiceover narration and “game of cat and mouse” got a little old but overall still a good thriller.

I rated Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) 6/10 #IMDb It was better than the first one. Likely because of its stronger horror, dark, creepy vibe.

I rated Big Man (2025) 5/10 #IMDb Beginning 5; middle 6; end 5.
June 21, 2025 at 4:13 AM
I rated Monster House (2006) 6/10 #IMDb I was tossing around a rating of 5 or 6. It’s decent but it’s far from perfect. I was surprised to see the CGI animation looked to be circa 1996 instead of 2006.

I rated Longlegs (2024) 5/10 #IMDb It has great styling but the story didn’t grab me. It was mediocre and slow paced. It had potential and some good elements but overall it’s mostly a one-watch only type of movie.

I rated Jerry Maguire (1996) 8/10 #IMDb A really good movie. The 1st and 3rd act was a solid 8 or 9, the 2nd act was a 7.

I rated All the Right Moves (1983) 4/10 #IMDb It’s a movie that’s lower than mediocre but it’s still not bad. It was nice seeing a few big name stars in the start of their career, especially the youthful 21 year old Tom Cruise.

I rated Good Will Hunting (1997) 5/10 #IMDb An highly rated film around the world, but it’s just “eh” to me. It seemed half-baked, needed better character development and backstory, and most relationships between the characters weren’t believable enough. I must have missed something…

I rated Monster-in-Law (2005) 6/10 #IMDb Entertaining over all, slow getting started, but once the fake “anxiety attack” happened it kept getting better.

I rated Searching (2018) 7/10 #IMDb
May 3, 2025 at 2:28 AM
I rated Fences (2016) 8/10 #IMDb It started out as a 6, then went to 7, but finished at 8 — it got better with each act. An excellent movie with some of the finest acting I’ve seen.

I rated Twisters (2024) 4/10 #IMDb On the Enhanced Fujita scale, Twister (1996) is an EF4; Twisters (2024) is a straight-line wind. It lacked everything the original excelled at.

If I had to say anything good about Twisters, it was nice seeing both sides eventually get along and work together.

I rated The Substance (2024) 10/10 #IMDb MOTHERFUCK! What a movie! Though there are elements of and inspiration taken from The Fly (1986), The Thing, The Shining, and The Faculty, I have never seen a movie quite like this before!

I rated American Pie 2 (2001) 6/10 #IMDb

I rated American Pie (1999) 6/10 #IMDb It’s been 25 years since I’ve seen this. While still good, I remember it being a lot raunchier — and this was the unrated version verses the theatrical version I saw all those years ago.

I rated The Nutty Professor (1996) 7/10 #IMDb Definitely not the family-friendly movie I thought it was, but was also a lot more entertaining and funnier than I thought it would be.
