5.) It is completely fucking insane that less than 2 weeks ago was the first major mid-air plane collision in the US in over a decade and 67 people died and it basically dropped out of the news cycle entirely within 48 hours because every day manages to be more horrific than the day before it now.

4.) But even with that, the past month has been the most unbearable to follow the news in my lifetime.

2.)In the years since, it has become more unbearable for the exact opposite reasons. Columbine, which meritted its coverage more than anything else in that list, is now only the 4th most deadly attack on a K-12 school, and one of many that occur annually.
