I’m going to be very honest and clear.
I am fully preparing myself to die under this new American regime. That’s not to say that it’s the end of the world. It isn’t. But I am almost 50 years old. It will take so long to do anything with this mess that this is the new normal for *me*.

Fascism sets in EXACTLY like this. Days go by. Nothing improves. The people wait with bated breath for SOMETHING or SOMEONE to help. Court orders, but no enforcement. Time passes. We become desensitized. Life goes on. Rights are chipped away. Life goes on. People die. Life goes on.

Imagine hearing from your president that “we’re here for you” and not the usual performative, low class, ratings seeking, pathetic and weak messaging designed to solely divide Americans.

I was just told that I have to remove “climate” from the title of an ongoing grant if I want to keep it. And publications from that grant cannot include “climate” and other forbidden words. I can’t believe I’m writing this from the United States of America. #AcademicSky
