I'm a few days late on this one, but it's still worth reading: I just wanted to give a shout-out to @marinscott.bsky.social on my team at @nbcnews.com for the strong work she did with Freddie Clayton on an important story about Russia appearing to dismantle military equipment in Syria.

Going back to 1968, the incumbent party has lost every election when the sitting president's approval rating was 45% or lower in Gallup's polling.

It also presents another parallel between '24 and '68, when VP Humphrey tried to succeed LBJ.
