I’m here for the hit tweets
Do you realize that the thread I muted, and this thread, are different threads? That the “mute thread” and “mute account” buttons are different buttons with different functions? Idk what you want but yes those are screen caps from the thread I muted and where I called out some pretty toxic behavior

You’re gonna be shocked when you find out that “mute thread” exists and is a button people push when choosing to mute a thread. I’m not gonna explain what the mute thread button has to do with what you’re referencing bc I thought it would be fun to leave you with a part of the riddle to solve urself

Are you ok?????
November 8, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Whoa nope I’ve known enough narcissists that I can immediately spot someone justifying their abuse and I’m not even gonna read past your first sentence, get all the way fucked please thanks. Muting now

Yeah although I might take another shot at Nire if Nire mentions sobriety again
November 8, 2025 at 8:07 PM
Haha I was just joking that Nire was an account with multiple users
November 8, 2025 at 8:06 PM
True, though I don’t think Aaron was telling activists to be more precise, I think he was just defending why *he* must be precise. But ultimately we’re on the same side in that truth and justice are a package deal when they’re at their best 🤝

I’ve been making a measured attempt to engage in good faith but given that some of the replies I’ve gotten have involved questioning my sobriety, I’ve had to strike a balance between sincerity and troll, I guess. But yeah seeing the second reply without the context of the first would be brutal 💀 😅
November 8, 2025 at 8:03 PM
Not the “don’t you have something better to do” person bringing up sobriety trolls again (which is ableist, btw— the people in your life who struggle with substance abuse see the way you leverage their disease for internet dunks and it hurts them)
November 8, 2025 at 7:59 PM
Wait is this written by the same person or do you have multiple people sharing an account? I guess can you decide to either troll or engage in earnest? My autism cannot take on both a bad faith ragebaiter and a good faith complainant at the same time

I guess I'm confused that you don't have better things to say than continuing to double down on not wanting to reread what anyone said
November 8, 2025 at 7:58 PM
Yeah thanks for posting it again, I saw it and have replied.
November 8, 2025 at 7:51 PM
this isn’t a news story.
November 8, 2025 at 7:50 PM
I am genuinely sorry for misgendering you and will do my best not to do it again but I also definitely do not look at bios of every internet troll I engage with, so, idk, I don’t think that’s a good faith determination of someone’s feelings re: accuracy. Especially since I’m not a journalist and
November 8, 2025 at 7:50 PM
Is Aaron one of the failing journalists you’re describing? If so, call him out and be specific. Otherwise this just looks like you’re posturing and licking your wounds after the fact. Look I get that you’re advocating for messaging or whatever but you’re sucking at both messaging and accuracy rn
November 8, 2025 at 7:48 PM
I mean he pretty explicitly cuts journalism out of the convo entirely here, basically saying we only need propagandists now and historians in the future. That’s fine and good for people doing resistance work but that’s not what journalism is for

Indeed. We can leave recording the specific details to the historians writing about how, god willing, we put every one of these people in prison.
November 8, 2025 at 7:42 PM
My point is that even after he relented, Eric continued to seemingly downplay the foundational value that truth telling is to journalism, which he continued to emphasize in a different thread that he (funnily) locked from replies
November 8, 2025 at 7:37 PM
Honestly it’s like you don’t even know journalism as a field exists. Like all we’ll need are messengers, fiction authors and historians. It’s funny

(btw we should put them in prison but we should also write about it accurately before and during rather than just after)

Same feeling I had when watching someone tell a journalist that facts don’t matter as much as messaging tbh
November 8, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Honestly I should’ve known it would go this way when joining an accuracy vs messaging argument on the side of accuracy. I guess write the next installment of your flash fan fiction series if it makes you feel like you’re helping the cause or whatever
November 8, 2025 at 6:22 PM
“ooooooh what I SHOULD’VE said was” *opens phone again*
November 8, 2025 at 6:18 PM
Wait you *think* it matters? It’s important to be accurate “in those cases”? lololol it’s like watching someone create journalism ethics from first principles in real time but they’re still not quite sure if truth telling is the primary aim
