Writing a novel but I’m ok.
Sometimes my dog barks at me from the other room because he wants food or a walk. Sometimes it’s because he’s on the sofa, and feels very strongly that I should be too.

“A few bad apples” is such a weird way to try to dismiss something as not serious. The saying is “a few bad apples SPOIL THE BUNCH”, not “it’s just a few bad apples so the bunch is definitely totally fine, eat it”
Q: Politico reported on a group chat of young Republicans. Does this just reflect some bad apples?

HOCHUL: Some bad apples? These are the future of the GOP. This is so vile it's hard to find the words to put into context ... there's gotta be consequences ... this bullshit has to stop.

Is anyone else thinking of contingency plans for if it happens?
Today on The Bunker: Nigel Farage is on the rise, Keir Starmer is stumbling and the Conservatives are fading into irrelevance. Should we be worried? @gavinesler.bsky.social is joined by @bwalker.uk to discuss 👉 linktr.ee/bunker_pod

In his first show after being reinstated following his suspension, Jimmy Kimmel greeted the audience with the same opener used by Jack Paar in 1960 when he returned to his show after being censored by his network.

“Malicious communications…the act of sending an indecent, grossly offensive, or threatening message, or false information, with the intent to cause the recipient distress or anxiety”
So the victim of this presumably is Trump?!

Listen lads - Trump, Vance, Hegseth - at the risk of repeating myself: YOU don’t need to pray. You have the power to change the gun laws.

What in the cartoon-nineteen-fifties-housewife is he on about now?

I seem to have pulled my left bicep. Apparently to heal it needs something called “rest”.
So my question is: do I now just stop lifting weights, or should I continue on my right side?
Will I be Popeye on the right and Olive Oil on the left?

Ok I’ve thought about it and that’s now my aim.

An M.I.T. study found that 95% of companies that had invested in A.I. tools were seeing zero return. It jibes with the emerging idea that generative A.I., “in its current incarnation, simply isn’t all it’s been cracked up to be,” johncassidysays.bsky.social writes.
The A.I.-Profits Drought and the Lessons of History
Like the steam engine, electricity, and computers, generative artificial intelligence could take longer than expected to transform the economy.

So it’s not urgent, but does anyone know… when Elvis sang “well you ain’t never caught a rabbit and you ain’t no friend of mine”, was he just stating two unrelated facts or did he have a very weird selection process for friends?

No worries if not. x

My dog and I went to an off-grid cabin in a forest in Norfolk. The meteor shower was a bonus.

What happens if you don’t do background checks or training for thousands of people and you give them all total authority?

ICE has been caught looting and destroying property at Pittsburgh restaurants. They even tried to break into the safes. They loaded food, supplies and equipment into vehicles

Oh good, more thoughts and prayers. So much cheaper than funding the agency that monitors and gives early warnings on natural disasters.

Not as effective - dozens died - but cheaper.

This is an extraordinary piece of investigative journalism - and an absolutely extraordinary story
Penniless and homeless, Raynor and Moth Winn found fame with their story of their 630-mile walk to salvation. The Salt Path became a global bestseller and was adapted into a major film.

I don’t know who might need this, but… every time I take my dog Ludo for a walk, he literally will not go down the stairs until I have allowed him to position himself like this, and until he has received sufficient head pats and proclamations that he is a good - nay, the best - boy.

Your plain-clothes officers are picking non-criminals, non-illegals and literal tourists off the street and imprisoning them without due process. You’re raiding elementary school graduations. One of you did a literal hit and run on a protestor.

But the Gestapo wore Hugo Boss, so yeah, not the same.
Awww you guys - the Acting Director of ICE is really upset that we keep accurately refering them the American Gestapo and calling out their kidnappings. Keep up the good work everyone!!!

The journalists involved must have looked back over the story searching for the moment they should have known. I don’t know why but for me it would be this bit.
