Here is a poem I wrote called "Monopoly." Please share if you'd like. 💙

"Monopoly" by Erica Brittony What happens when there are no more libs to own? What happens when there are no more seeds to sow? What happens when all that's left is go, go, go? No stopping for friend or foe. Left to your own devices that you can never power off. No one left to turn to, and no one Left to scoff. I guess we'll see... Right? What is this word, community? The Others had it; us, jealousy that money can't buy everything. So we mocked, defiled, delayed, denied. Good luck escaping our genocide, and if you aren't on our side you'll be history. Oh– But you have money? How much? Better perform and entertain, Make your time worth our pain in our wallets and our names. Generate productivity, you pig! We want to make it big! A spectacle, a show, a grand extraordinaire! We want it all, everything– Except for you, honey. Go home. We don't want you here. Your kind doesn't belong. You may have the color and the hat... but not the wealth or influence. Be gone! What happens when there are no more libs to own? What happens when there are no more seeds to sow? What happens when all that's Left is going, going, gone? Maybe that's when we'll finally learn that in their game of Monopoly, we were the pawns.
