Ok. Tell us one time. Does msu have enough NIL money (NOT REV SHARE) to be competitive in the transfer portal? How does MSU's NIL compare to a year ago when all you guys said they didn't have enough? I don't need dollar amounts. But can you tell me something? Please?

Carr and fears are a combined 6/44 from 3 since the beginning of December. Nobody's asking for 40%, but you can't be sub-15. If that's not figured out, MSU's looking at a tougher year than what their current record/ranking would indicate

2. Since there's been a CFP committee (12 years), 6 non-power teams have finished in the top 12. Average of one every 2 years. That's plenty often enough for teams to have hope
3. If they're gonna make it so one gets in automatically, whatever. You can't let two in
December 22, 2025 at 12:06 PM
1. Couch's "you need an autobid from a group of 5" take is wrong. I used to agree with him. I don't now. Here's why

Is UM telling media that they can't ask Sherrone Moore-related questions to players an example of how they just want this to go away so they can go back to doing what they've always done? If MSU was in this scenario would they do the same thing? Our players got asked about Mel

I'm not upset at any individual hire, but looking at how MSU's coaching staff is filling out, there's a lot of dudes from the Big Ten West. Like, a lot. I get Fitz coached there. But should there be any worry in our ability to build a championship program with so many guys from a crap division?

If it's true that Izzo didnt bring in a real 2 because it wouldve forced Kur Teng to transfer, that means he needs to be a true big 10 starting 2-guard. If this team comes up short because they lack one of those, Teng should be seen as the reason why. And since hes a pro, its not unfair to say that

Speaking of integrity: how in the name of everything holy does Warde still have a job right now? Is there another athletic department that, with the above characteristics, would keep their AD? And that's just the football stuff!

7 coaches arrested.Largest on-field cheating scandal in history. Recruiting violations leading to suspensions. Destroying evidence. Multiple show-cause penalties. And for most of it, open defiance by the school when questioned. Can we all agree that UM and integrity dont belong in the same sentence?
December 12, 2025 at 1:21 PM
It's clear that many of those who cover UM had at least some idea that this was going on. Did anyone who covers UM investigate it? Let's reverse this and say it's MSU: if these rumors had been flying since August, would people like you or Mencarini have looked into it further?

1) Grahams first take on Saturday was dead on: this loss was disappointing, not discouraging
2) I don't love bringing back Rossi
December 8, 2025 at 11:50 AM
1) the point is that people outside of Fitz and Batt knew about them talking. It stayed quiet. Fitz not being with a team doesn't make any difference there
2) suggesting Haller had better instincts than Batt in how this thing should run on the eve of a $400m donation is a wild one

MSU had a great year last season, but in their two games vs top 10 opponents they were an obvious step behind. Is it crazy to think that if they play Duke fairly even that it'd be among the most promising performances in years, even if they lose?

After decorating our Christmas tree, my wife questioned why I had placed the Santa Rube ornament front and center. If I get all of her gifts at teecups.org do you think that would help her appreciate you guys more?

We've now seen a coach hired, with donor input, without leaks. Couch repeatedly made excuses for Haller hiring Smith without donor input by saying it was to avoid it leaking. Can we be done with that excuse now?
December 5, 2025 at 2:28 AM
3. I've said i didnt get why izzo recruited Kohler. I thought he was, at best, Nick Ward-lite: good in the post but a below average defender and rebounder. I was dead wrong. He's so much more than what i ever would've expected. The kid is awesome

1. Batt clearly identified Fitzgerald as someone of interest and went and got it done. While I'm not overjoyed by the pick, he CLEARLY is a better fit than the disgrace we just fired. I trust Batt here
2. In 25 years we'll look back at Smith the way my parents look at Muddy Waters. So glad he's gone
December 1, 2025 at 3:27 AM
1. Get this clown off my campus
2. A real coach with this exact same roster is sitting at 6-5 right now
November 23, 2025 at 11:58 AM
Could it begin to hurt MSU that they're waiting to fire Smith? Franklin's already off the table and I gotta believe more are soon to follow. Do you think Batt is working behind the scenes right now to secure the next coach for as soon as he axes smith?

I saw something that said MSU's "payroll" for basketball was $3.5 million. I remember Graham saying it was $3 million two years ago, so I woulda thought it was significantly more now. Does 3.5 sound right based on what you know?
November 21, 2025 at 11:26 AM
1. MSU seems to possess the qualities of a classic Izzo squad. Impressive win
2. It's puzzling to me how, a year after 3-point shooting was the biggest weakness, we'd roll into this season with so few proven shooters
3. So nice not having a football game
November 10, 2025 at 11:34 AM
You suggested that Teng would've transferred if MSU brought in a Big Ten caliber starting 2 guard. Yet two years ago when Kohler and Cooper were sophomores, you argued msu should've brought in a big because it wouldn't have been seen as "recruiting over" them. Why would this have been different?
November 7, 2025 at 1:49 PM
1. Missed 90% of the game at a Halloween party. 5 years ago the idea of that would've been outrageous. That's the Jonathan Smith effect
2. Going from quitting onfield vs UCLA to "Same Old Spartans" isn't the argument to keep Smith that some fans are acting like it is
3. Ridiculous officiating in OT
November 3, 2025 at 11:47 AM
Is MSU's NIL the worst in the big ten? Is it bottom 3? If the answer to both of those is no, can we please stop with this "Smith was set up to fail" nonsense? He might've not been set up to succeed to the level we want. And that's not his fault. But spare me. There HAS to be enough $ to not be this
October 30, 2025 at 11:47 AM
Has graham ever had a worse take than his "Haller will get an ovation at a basketball game in a decade" point from Monday? Holy God, Graham. The guy followed up the worst contract in the history of the sport with the worst MSU hire since Muddy Waters. His legacy isn't complex; he was horrific
