Huge fan of metroidvanias but I had never played a Metroid or Castlevania game before until a couple months ago I played through Supper Metroid and man it really holds up compared to a lot of games of that era. Been playing Metroid 2 on NSO with a guide and it's also pretty neat for a Gameboy game!

Zelda geeking out over the murals but one of them is obscured and you forget all about it for the next hundred hours until you find yourself in the same room again. the title and first few lines made me think your best friend was a fish named tony and i was slightly disappointed to find out that tony was actually seemingly a human person but i guess also it would be sad for a kid to be best friends with a fish. great poem though.
