Jessica Rosenworcel's departure from the FCC means that on January 20, the Commission will have 2 Republicans and 2 Democrats with Trump-designee Brendan Carr as the Chair.

Republican Commissioner Simington's term is expired, so Republicans will need to confirm two Commissioners.

It does raise the question how long until a 5th FCC commissioner could be nominated and approved to give incoming agency chair a 3-2 Majority.
