Noodles are still just different shapes of pasta. This is false enlightenment.

Would immunes be expected to fight in battles (assuming their special skill was not needed during the battle itself) or would they stay back at the camp?

Do we know why it was a "Blue" dragon? Or was it just an arbitrary name.

walking is for suckers, you only enter and leave the house by car via the garage.

Nova is back at HQ, yelling into their earpieces to stop posing for the camera and get on with the mission.

As a Dutch person, this somehow tracks in a way I can't quite put my finger on.

I am now imagining Sisters shouting praise for the Emperor in a Flemish accent (you'll just have to trust me that that's funny if you speak Dutch)

Sadly we don't have the technology for this. Unless...

Maybe we can steal that power from somewhere, from the Gods perhaps? That could work out nicely.

Can we really say the project of history is complete until we can confidently say what Ea-Nasir had for breakfast on his 25th birthday?

Maybe shes got invisible forfield attached to her heels, like old-timey snowshoes.

Or, eldar never pierce the ground, like Legolas walking on snow.

He has always been (unintentionally) funny, he has never, ever been "ok" (in any sense of the word)

Well, let's just hope this war won't become part of another, larger, unprecedently destructive, war. Like with the 80 years and 30 years war.

I doubt it, those stats are just speculation by people who really need AI to succeed. Companies are disguising normal layoffs as AI replacements, because it looks better. And if it really was that successful already, we'd be seeing more AI companies becoming profitable, or doing IPO's.

No, I'm assuming every one of those 100k people was making 100k a year. 100k times 100k is 10 billion.

Investment so far is over 500 billion.
August 20, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Suppose a 100k jobs have become obsolete because of AI, and each of these jobs saves companies ~100k in wages per year. That means 10B in savings per year, so the investment will be made back in 50 years! And that's not counting for the cost of powering and maintaining data centers, which is huge!
August 20, 2025 at 4:00 PM
I doubt it has actually replaced that many in a structural way. But even so, that wouldn't justify a combined investment of $500 billion and counting. And I don't think LLM's are just getting started, rather the limitations are showing, like the promised "agentic" functions that fail to materialize.
August 20, 2025 at 3:43 PM
Except AI hasn't shown the capacity to actually do that, at least not to the degree that justified all the billions of investment.

Horis: We gotta do it, brother, it's the only way. It was revealed to me in a dream.
me: The dream you had...
Horus: ...while the cultists were performing their eldritch ritual over me while I was incapacitated by the Cursed Blade of Ultimate Evil. Yeah that dream.

most embarrassing purchases were some TF2 and Super Monday Night Combat lootbox keys shortly after this.

Is it actually producing a useable product though?
August 13, 2025 at 11:55 PM
I think their idea is that while humans were at one point on even footing, the "harsh climate" of Europe induced futher evolutionary development, while the "abundant food" in tropical climes did not. And they would dispute that any significant ethnic mixing took place before the last few centuries.

Well now, there's something deeply serious to concern yourself about!
