For engineering orgs, one of the most important Copilot features is org-level custom instructions.
Until now they mostly lived on GitHub.com, and VS Code needed repo workarounds.
With incoming support in Copilot Chat for VS Code, those org instructions finally flow into the IDE too.

Can't find “Copilot CLI” anywhere in #vscode?

This looks like a larger move for rebranding. Soon, both the cloud agent and the CLI agent for #githubcopilot will simply be known as "background agent".

I like it. You can concentrate on the orchestration, instead of the location

Nice Copilot CLI quality of life win in VS Code. CLI sessions will now be workspace aware, so each repo shows its own sessions in the list.

Feels like a small change, but it pushes Copilot closer to a truly unified experience across IDE, chat, and CLI

Turn on MCP in a real repo and the tool list explodes: from config, repo, extensions, infra. #GitHubCopilot fix in #vscode
is a kind of RAG, using embeddings to cluster and route each request to a small relevant set.

Practical lesson for me: fewer tools, smarter routing.

Maybe it's time to stop thinking about AI just as a faster junior dev and consider it as a new kind of production system that our SDLC needs to protect.

I'm looking into ways runtime signals and quality gates can help us move faster than, e.g., looking at our PR size.

Thoughts?

What the "dynamic" heck is this?

I accidently stumbled on the Gemini "Dynamic View".

Look, I know we already had the components, but the experience is groundbreaking, imho

The Copilot extension is adding integration for Copilot CLI custom agents in the UI.

Copilot will discover defined agents, expose them in CLI-backed chat sessions, and let you choose an agent per session through the UI, backed by a dedicated service + feature flag.

The Blacklist season 9 starts slow, but contrary to my trepidation, there was no shark jumping

Re-reading the expanded Dune. Now with Paul of Dune.

I love the stories. Especially the way they used Irulan as a justification for changing Paul's biography.

I just noticed that the navigators on the original first book weren't inside containers. Am I wrong?
