My parents took me with them to play and poetry readings in the city when I was a kid. More than once at the Q&A, someone in the audience would ask the writer, "what do you want to get from this?" How about substantive engagement? At another reading decades later, same demon, same question.

Cloudflare suggested contacting Typepad support; my complaint is now with support@typepad.com, which I should have known is the correct email address.

It's almost certainly Cloudflare's intrusion detection system. Cloudflare is a DNS, VPN, and internet service provider. The error message suggests that Typepad uses Cloudflare to block bad actors. I've logged a report with Cloudflare's support (I'm making a nuisance of myself).

It happened to me, and I'm a long-time reader of Leiter Reports; I thought I was at fault. I wrote to webmaster@typepad.com, though that might bounce. I think CloudFlare's security system generated the error since, at least for me, a CloudFlare ID shows up. I'll write to CloudFlare as well.
