Just a typical neurodivergent math nerd and Fisheries student from Alaska. Hoping to either become a fish tech or to work in conservation.
I didn't see the first part until now, so this I'm mostly reacting to both at once, but this is super god damn cute. I wish y'all the best :3 <3

I assume they meant to say that the rate is 6,000% higher in the US. Because what 6,000% lower means that it's negative

I have just learned that this is in fact not a recent development. Pseudo-feminists have apparently existed for a good while now. The more you know, I guess

As long as it's illegal and the workers have no protections under the law, it those problems cannot be fixed. And banning or censoring a practice does not and has never made it go away.
December 8, 2025 at 8:45 AM
I'm not claiming that sex work doesn't have other problems, but those are minimised of you have legal protections for sex workers. Unions, legal avenues to fight illegal practices in the industry, even just basic decriminalisation.
December 8, 2025 at 8:45 AM
Pseudo-feminists don't like it, not because it's bad, but because it's taboo. If it fit better with their censor, it would be fine.
December 8, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Hard labour? Your just using your body. Working in a lab, your still using your body. Sex work is just a different method of using your body. The only part that makes people uncomfortable is that the people are naked and that being naked is considered a taboo.
December 8, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Lastly. I want to ask a simple question. What about porn is objectifying? Is it that they're naked? Maybe it's that they're only there for their body. Or maybe it's that you forgot that every job is about your body whether you're a man or a woman.
December 8, 2025 at 8:40 AM
If sex work wasn't seen as a taboo, but was instead seen as just another job, people wouldn't have a problem, and they'd find it no more objectifying than any other job. If you can't find porn that doesn't degrade women, the problem might be that you're looking in the wrong place.
December 8, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Sex work objectifies women is one claim we've likely all heard before. But for some reason people don't claim that about flight attendants or other jobs or even just about sex itself. Sex work doesn't objectify women, people do.
December 8, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Despite this, these pseudo-feminists claim that things like kinks and sex work are bad because (insert completely unfounded claim here). In reality by portraying them these kinds of activities as bad and morally wrong, they are actually hurting feminism by being the censors that feminism opposes.
December 8, 2025 at 8:40 AM
If you know your history well enough (at least if you're in the US. I don't know too much about the history of feminism in the rest of the world), then you know that the sexual liberation movement was a very big part of feminism. The freedom to express yourself sexually without fear of censorship.
December 8, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Feminism is the advancement of women's rights and freedoms up to and including the point where they equal to those of men. It is not to kill all men. It is not to remove men's rights. It is to ensure that women can enjoy all the same rights, freedoms, and protections that men do.
December 8, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Now, one problem I have with people today, mostly online but some irl, is the recent spread of pseudo-feminists and pseudo-feminism. People who use the term feminist to be anti-feminist prudes and/or bigots.
