DQ3HD is great ... I think my biggest challenge with DQ3 has always been the difficulty of the first third. Caterpillars that can cast Buff and use flame breath can ruin things fast. That remains the case.

Phantom Brave 1 has some of the best characters in the Disgaea-verse.
The gameplay is kind of clunky and frustrating.
Great voice cast featuring Steve Blum.

I only played the demo of the sequel, but it seems much more accessible with the QoL changes.

Will you be playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance? It's my favorite spin-off game in the series.

I've found this overlap of the people complaining about the lack of turn-based RPG are also the people not playing turn-based RPGs outside of Final Fantasy.
There's countless turn-based RPGs being made today.
Final Fantasy is no longer the gold standard of the genre.

I replayed XIII last year and had a blast. With every game being open-world nowadays, playing something very linear was nice.

Are you playing the Pixel Remasters?

I have Evolution Worlds on the GameCube ... I'm told it's an abridged version of the two games.
Played it briefly, the characters are cute, though the gameplay is mostly a mystery dungeon romp.

I have an Eon HDMI adapter ... The video from the GameCube is so clear.

Ah, to be a teen in the late mid-late 00's. A time when you would gather your friends together during the day, then chat over GaiaOnline in the evening.

I think people are ready for Luke these days.

This is true... The RPGs we love from that time were perceived as "boring" in the west. Kids weren't asking for Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger. They wanted a Zelda game or a mascot-platformer.

It's sometimes fun to compare my game time between save save files... I sometimes wonder, "What the heck was I spending so much time doing my first time?"
