It certainly never leaves him - he does finally understand her as a person. But in doing so he comes to realise that he can never go after her, he has caused too much hurt. And so it remains with him, this dull ache that never truly heals.

It’s a tricky one! With Alistair I don’t doubt that in his mind he loves her - but it is a selfish and self serving love - she is a symbol to him more than a wife and he cannot understand her need for something beyond the valley in which they live. I think he realises this in the end - but too late

This! I guess it depends on how you define love. I was thinking the same thing regarding Alistair - I am sure your antagonist believes that they love - and therefore can we say that they don’t? But can we define it as love if it is only on their own terms?

The problem for Alistair is not what love makes him do - it is what it doesn’t make him do. His love for Isabel is very real (at least to him) - but it wasn’t enough to see her, to understand her, to leave with her. Their relationship scars them both. #writingcommunity

Speed is not a strength of mine! I don’t have huge amounts of spare time so when I do I want to be focused so having multiple stories would definitely slow me down! What is your process?

Definitely! I don’t think I am creative enough to have too many storylines/narratives on the go - I can only fit so many characters into my head - The more that I have the less interesting they become! Haha

I struggle with titles to be honest - they are normally the last thing I come up with and even then I’m not convinced!

Absolutely not! Haha. My brain can barely keep one narrative consistent without adding in others!
