Except, you know, this isn't about Haiti, as Europe sees famously few Haitians, and the US sees preciously few Ukrainians, all the while Western Europe has been dealing with the fucked-up extremism from the middle-east that the US conveniently is ignoring.

How about you all go fuck yourselves, US?

That might be a *bit* hyperbolic, but as someone in IT, I do NOT want my systems to regulate my life.

Computers were made to enhance and automate what we wanted to do, not the other way around. The moment you let these systems regulate your life, you're losing your self-determination.

Fuck that.

Listen, my dryer is synced up to my washer, which is synced to my microwave, which has my food ready at 18:00, DST adjusted, so that it's ready on time so I can watch my Amazon Prime Exclusive series before bed at 22:30 so I can be rested at 6:00 and at work on time for the corporate overlords.

No offense - at all... but..

How the Fuck did ditching a commercial service become something worth even noticing, let alone applauding?

Good Lord, is the US that fucked up?

Yeesh - you take care over there. Hope there's no more of that nonsense for a while longer. o.O

Seriously though, I did very much enjoy that. Thanks, George.

I know a lot of us are all 'lol Duncan Fisher' or 'SHOW THEM YOUR STEEL', but I do hope we've shown some appreciation for the range you have.

Lord knows I wish I could utilize my voice like that.. Best I can do is a nerdy Dutch accent.

>But destroying that balance can have major consequences. If it wasn't for the disastrous consequences involving Ukraine and our economies, I'd be entertained with the shock of the realization of the average American how much the world has to deal with their shit.
No offense.. It's just.. exhausting

>>There was a balance that US governments realized was tenable at the cost of diplomatic effort and military involvement that the US benefited from economically and politically, while the EU got to focus on a slow economic balancing act that benefited the US as the dominant power.>

The French are way more likely to rise to the occasion to protest.. And so they do. Impressively so.
But I think a lot of Americans don't realize how much of the world doesn't care about the US until they have to.
Like, there's 95% of the world out there. But you now fuck up 100% of our relations.>>

Yeah, no kidding. I've dropped Google almost completely by now because I often have a hard time finding the results I'm looking for.
What I'm getting isn't even the traditional 'most shoved in your face (go to page 2 for answers)', it's increasingly some AI garbage in-garbage out.
March 6, 2025 at 4:50 PM
Reactions on a news article criticizing the use of 'AI' to generate images about how it was to live in the middle ages (spoiler: they were wrong) were also of the caliber 'who cares, it's fun to watch'.

Yeah, we SHOULD care.. We shouldn't like pretty lies pretending to be historical facts.
