Most abstracts will be offered a place in the poster walk for conference participants to view and discuss at breaktimes.

A small number of abstracts will be selected for the Ken Fearon award session; a really supportive and positive opportunity for anyone presenting their work to an audience of peers for the first time.

Named in honour of Professor Ken Fearon, a pioneer in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), this session celebrates outstanding research, innovation, and clinical practice that drive real-world improvements in surgical outcomes.

Mrs Corinne Smart. Lead for the Colorectal and Head and Neck Enhanced Recovery Programmes, with a special interest in post-discharge support and national collaboration to improve surgical outcomes for all. Committed to sharing best practices and advancing perioperative care.

Miss Hamira Ghafoor. Approaching 10 years’ experience with ERAS lead on Oesophagectomy, gastrectomy, cystectomy & nephrectomy ERAS programmes. Led prehabilitation scoping at the Trust. Have a focused interest in perioperative care and health inequalities.

Mrs Irene Fitt. Have been in post for nearly 12 years and as enthusiastic as ever! Specialities include colorectal, bariatric, head and neck, gynae, obstetrics, urology and orthopaedics.. Current areas of interest include reduction in routine post op bloods and day case protocols
